Ivy too had an unbelievably easy morning. If you are a parent and don't own or haven't read or even heard of the book The Wonder Weeks, do yourself a favor and go check it out. The book describes the major developmental leaps that occur as babies grow and the associated mood changes. They studied babies all over the world and noticed that nearly all babies cycle through periods of irritability and ease. They describe the major leaps in detail, but all you really need is the chart. The chart of storm clouds and sunshine. They show you week by week when your baby is likely to be extra sensitive and fussy, as well as the periods of calm. Ivy is thankfully out of the big 4-6 month stormy season. The book predicts a 'sunny week' at 31 weeks. She just sailed into week 31. She's amazingly adaptable at the moment. Naps are a new sight. Just this morning she seemed to be getting tired. I held her a bit, gave her her pacifier, rocked her gently for a minute or two and put her down. She grabbed her owl blanket, rolled over and went to sleep. My baby! She rolled over and went to sleep! Ah!! Mornings like this are such a success.
Completely unrelated photo. Here is Ivy playing with Jack's bulldozer while he was away.
