Busy kids.

Life rolls on here at our house. Ivy is shockingly more mobile every day. She is working hard to get her belly off the ground and finally make it to all fours. She currently alternates between frustrated whining and grunting and spinning in circles. She’ll occasionally get a lucky break and totter close to a chair leg which she’ll grasp and gum wildly. Shawn and I give it two weeks and she’ll be mobile for real. We broke the news to Jack this afternoon. As soon as Ivy can move….and get into his stuff, his life won’t be the same.

Jack had a great weekend. He defied all laws of what’s natural and possible by staying awake for record amounts of time. For instance, this morning he woke up at 5:15. He used the potty and then played by himself until Shawn and I could lug ourselves out of bed (Ivy had a rough night!). He’s been going and going since. We ran him as much as we could. However, it’s 7:30 pm and he’s still singing in his room.

Lastly, we got a pet. Jack got a fish. It’s a good lead in to a puppy. Jack asked us what his name was. He was a little surprised when we told him he got to choose a name. He thought long and hard and decided our little beta is named Roary Lightning McQueen Shillington. We weren’t so sure he survived the journey home. But alas he is swimming happily in his bowl. Phew. Luckily he came with a 14 day guarantee.
