We're Back.

We're back! We took a much needed vacation the other week. Shawn had to travel to NYC for work so I tagged along. Jack stayed with my parents. It was his first overnight stay away from Mom and Dad and it went really well. Jack slept well, ate well, played a lot and generally wore them out. It's a relief to know he's in good hands and happy to play with Gram and Grandpa (or Pops or whatever his name will be. We're letting Jack pick that one.)Shawn and I had a great trip. We had lots of people to see and shopping to do so I saved the resting part for the plane ride home.

After New York, we celebrated my little sister's wedding! My sister and mom worked long a hard planning each detail. The ceremony was elegant and the reception was beautiful. The room definitely had the "wow" factor. The band was great and the cake was superb. I'm dying to see the photos.



Otherwise, we're just back to the same old routine here. Shawn has been teaching Jack all kinds of new games. The ping pong ball game is popular as is Madden 2009. Jack's talents continue to come to light. He's really into clapping his hands and cheering when he does something good (like throw his dirty diaper in the trash. This is one of my favorite new talents). He even claps for his buddy when he does something good. Jack is also into hiding things under our kitchen rug. That is less fun. Most of his toys hurt when you step on them. My favorite new trick is the dancey dance. Jack spends a lot of time marching really fast and flapping his hands in front of his face. We don't have any idea what it means except that it means he's happy.
